Software Engineer Vacancy

The Software Engineer will play their part in bringing these new products to life. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, team player who’s eager to see product development through the full product development cycle from concept to production and out onto the market.
We have a newly created position, within our R&D Team, for a software programmer to assist in the development of application software medical devices. This role necessitates participation in code creation and delivery of robust medical devices for world-wide distribution, whilst meeting required product specifications along with preparation of supporting documentation.

Develop software for embedded Linux within a medical device
Responsible for developing safety critical software to IEC 62304 standards
Develop to MISRA C standards.
To support engineers from other disciplines in system development and testing
Follow product development processes as defined in the software development plan
Skills and Experience Required:
Strong ‘C’/C++ programming language skills
Use of ‘Safe C’ subsets e.g. MISRA
Appreciation of the specific challenges of real time systems
Appreciation of Functional Safety e.g. IEC 62304
Appreciation of Safety Critical software is beneficial
Understanding of compilers and linkers
Git source code control
Understanding of TDD, unit testing (GoogleTest) and integration testing
Has the ability to work with others in a cross-discipline team of engineers
Appreciation of software analysis tools (cppcheck, SonarQube) and code coverage tools
Desirable:
Development for Microcontrollers – specifically the STM32 processor.
Understanding of microcontroller hardware
Appreciation of CI/CD within GitLab
Understanding of Linux customisation with Yocto
