EDM+

The clinical benefits of the EDM+ stem directly from the use of a low frequency ultrasound sound signal to measure blood flow directly in the central circulation.

The EDM+ is the world’s first hemodynamic monitoring system to measure both flow and pressure directly.

An exciting new upgrade to the proven Doppler technology, the EDM+ combines Doppler measurement of blood flow with Pulse Pressure Waveform Analysis (PPWA). This provides users with:

Interface Cables

Probes

The probe is placed into the esophagus, either orally or nasally, and is similar to placing a nasogastric tube. The EDM monitor uses Doppler ultrasound technology to determine directly a patient’s central vascular blood flow and fluid status during the intraoperative period. Easy to use and quick to focus, the device generates a low frequency ultrasound signal which is highly sensitive to changes in flow and measures them immediately.

Once in position the clinician is able to measure real time blood velocities within the descending aorta.

Surgical

Deltex Medical has a range of single use esophageal Doppler probes dedicated to surgical application.
*Always consider any underlying medical or physiological issues before insertion of a probe.
Probes can be inserted nasally or orally in sedated or anesthetized adult patients.
For awake or waking adult patients, it is recommended that the probes be placed nasally.

Simulator

The Deltex Medical Esophageal Doppler Simulator (EDS) enables clinicians to practice probe insertion, focussing and waveform interpretation outside of a patient setting. It is designed for use with both the EDM and EDM+.
